Friday Funnies. WTC does a 180, Hilarious

Posted by FLATOUT JIM in , ,

No sooner had I published my rant on the ban of compression socks at KONA than the WTC did an about face. A 180 at high speed.

In response to athlete feedback, World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) has retracted its ban on garments that cover the calves at this year's Ford Ironman World Championship.

If you recall from my previous post, the ban was due to the fact that the socks cover the back of the calf and hence the age group marking. So to allow the wearing of the socks without breaking the rule, WTC deleted the rule. Age group designations will no longer be marked on the calf of athletes.

BUT they are still ugly, and I will not wear them if and when I get to KONA.

Hey did you find that information I sent you helpful?

I don't understand why they can't just write the age on the back of the knee, or lower hamstring.
